Lisa reached out to me looking for a Sequoia National Park photographer to capture some photos of her during her visit to a retreat in Three Rivers, California. She asked me if I would be open to photos of just her, as my portfolio features couples, families, proposals, and elopements, and my answer was: absolutely!

Lisa holds a handful of giant sequoia (Sequoiadendron giganteum) pinecones.

We chose a location that would emphasize the beauty and awe of Sequoia National Park without having to travel to multiple spots. Crescent Meadow Road is an ideal part of the park for photos as there are several epic backdrops like the closely-clustered Parker Group, the exposed roots of the fallen Buttress Tree, and the iconic Tunnel Log.

During our time together, Lisa shared that she realized her hair is "Sequoia red," which gave her a renewed appreciation for her curls. We explored the sequoias together for about an hour, admiring the beauty of the scenery and even running into a few mule deer who seemed curious about the people visiting their home in the Sierra Nevada mountains.
