Sequoia Engagement Photography

Sequoia National Park makes for an unforgettable engagement photohraphy session, particularly for lovers of the great outdoors. When I and S moved to the US from the UK for work, he knew immediately where he wanted to take S for their engagement photos, and he knew he needed a Sequoia National Park photography expert to make it perfect.

He shared pictures with me from when he visited the park a decade ago, and wanted to include some of the locations he'd seen back then in their photos. We planned the perfect evening for the two of them, stopping at gorgeous locations throughout the Giant Forest that captured the uniqueness of the park. I've hiked hundreds of miles in the park, but photo session planning is always collaborative. I'm happy to select locations for my clients, but I'm also more than happy to incorporate meaningful spots as well.

The first spot we chose was this huge giant sequoia root plate. This particular root plate is part of the Buttresss Tree, an estimated 2,300-year-old sequoia that fell without warning on June 3, 1959. Its huge root plate makes for a visually-interesting backdrop as it emphasizes the enormous footprint of these trees compared to the height of the people standing nearby.

S's hair and makeup were done by the talented (and also local!) Artistry by Erendira. The next series of photos shows off how gorgeous S looked!

We made our way from the Buttress Tree to the famous Tunnel Log. During their Sequoia trip these cuties wanted the full American experience: driving a convertible Ford Mustang through the log. And they did just that! We took a few more fun snaps of them trotting along Crescent Meadow Road and basking in the evening sunlight before visiting a couple of more locations. Next stop: the Parker Group Sequoias.

Our final stops before parting ways were the Giant Forest Museum and Beetle Rock.
